August 27, 2013 - The Sheaffer Pen Museum was pleased to host their first Sheaffer Pen Employee Reunion and Picnic on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Over 200 former employees attended this fun event held at the Pavilion in Riverview Park on the banks of the mighty Mississippi in Fort Madison, Iowa. Back in the day, Sheaffer Pen was a family oriented company, summer picnics were held annually at Sheaffer Park. Other family events were held at the Sheaffer Clubhouse throughout the year.
The recent Reunion and Picnic featured old fashioned games and lots of prizes for all. Former employees tried their hand at White Dot Bowling, The Sheaffer Pen Museum Bean Bag Toss, our unique One Hole Golf Course and several rousing rounds of Bingo were held inside for those who preferred to remain seated. There was a special drawing for one of the few remaining Sheaffer Pen Museum Commemorative Centennial coins made for the hundred year anniversary of the Sheaffer Pen Co.
